We headed up to Jump Creek Canyon with our friends for Memorial Day. It's about 45 minutes from Boise and a great little family spot. Tommy was really excited to go fishing and looked the part with his sun hat and rod.
This is our group starting down the trail.
All along the path there are parts where you can wander down and see the stream and fun rock formations. The kids loved it.
When you get to the end there is a great waterfall and fishing/swimming spot. There is also a fun little cave that the kids loved exploring.
This is my friend Leslie and I. She said we look like PE teachers, who should be named Rhonda and Roberta in this picture. I about died laughing. It's true.
Our little fisherman
Allie brought a treaure box along and filled it with shards of glass. She loves finding shiny garbage.
Tommy was pretty excited with this lizard his dad caught. He kept a good grip on it for a long time.
The girls
Isn't it cool! Such a fun little find. I can't wait to go again on a less busy day.
Issac and Tommy fishing
Cave exploring
The prized catch, Tommy loved it. He was so possessive. He cried when we put it back in the water. So dad caught another and let Tommy keep it. He had a death grip on his fish and finally let us put it in a Tupperware with some water. He held it on his lap all the way home. Totally gross and simultaneously adorable.
It was a great way to spend the holiday. I'm so glad to have such fun friends!
